Phoenix Convention And Visitors Bureau Instanty Regretting Use Of Ai Image To Promote City

PHOENIX –

After enlisting Microsoft Copilot to create an image of “People enjoying a conference in Phoenix” the local tourism board has quickly come to think this may not have been the best idea.

“Our entire pitch is making them forget we’re basically an oven with freeways”, said convention rep Cara McStucktocarseat, 30, “Now who do we get to come out here in July? The stamp collectors? They already had their event in Fargo in January.”

Prospective clients, however, seemed undeterred.

“I dunno, I think the desert landscape is beautiful”, said Monique Scopiono, 44, event planner for the National Association of Cacti Enthusiasts, “Maybe we should have our opening keynote outdoors too. I’m sure the A/C will be comfy enough.”

At press time, other Convention Bureaus were also rethinking the use of AI for their promotional imagery, particularly the team from Visit Gettysburg.
